Job Description:
LG Media is seeking a knowledgable Full Stack Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have an interest in server management, containerization, front-end development, and database management, with a strong willingness to learn and adapt. Familiarity with CMS platforms such as WordPress and Ghost is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  1. Frontend Development:
    • Implement front-end changes and enhancements using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
    • Work to translate design requirements into user-friendly interfaces.
    • Continuously improve the user experience and interface design across our network of sites.
  2. CMS Integration and Customization:
    • Integrate and customize CMS platforms such as WordPress and mainly Ghost to meet our content management needs.
    • Develop plugins, themes, and extensions to enhance the functionality of CMS platforms as required.
  3. Database Management:
    • Manage MySQL and SQL databases, including schema design, optimization, and performance tuning.
    • Execute database queries and stored procedures to support application functionality.
    • Ensure data integrity and security through proper backup and recovery procedures.
  4. Containerization and Server Management:
    • Containerize applications using Docker managing container orchestration with Kubernetes.
    • Configure and manage servers to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
    • Monitor system health and implement proactive measures to prevent downtime.
  5. Automated Task Coding and Integration:
    • Engineer and implement automated tasks using technologies such as Linux chron jobs, APIs, webhooks, and no-code tools like Zapier, IFTTT, and ActivePieces.
    • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve efficiency through automation.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to understand business needs and translate them into automated solutions.
    • Monitor and maintain automated processes, ensuring they run smoothly and efficiently.
    • Continuously explore new automation tools and techniques to enhance productivity and scalability across our network of sites.
  6. Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
    • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to resolve issues reported by users or internal team members.
    • Diagnose and address technical challenges related to performance, security, and scalability.

Abilities:

  • Basic understanding of front-end development technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Strong knowledge of database management, including schema design and optimization.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience in server management, configuration, and optimization.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and frameworks.
  • Familiarity with CMS platforms such as WordPress or Ghost is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Note: While expertise in all areas is preferred, candidates are not expected to be experts in every aspect mentioned. Collaboration with our technical founder, who currently manages these tasks, will be a central aspect of this role. You'll have the opportunity to work closely with leadership on key projects, acting as a partner rather than handling everything independently.

Both Junior and Senior Developers are encouraged to apply. This is not a full-time salary role.
